Happy Monday! I get asked on a daily basis for my favorite recipe websites. Whether you eat a varied healthy diet with no restrictions, have multiple food allergies, or a gastrointestinal condition here are a few sites you can use to find your next favorite recipe!
My Favorite Sites for Allergen Friendly Recipes:
For Gluten Free and Vegan Recipes:
- If you can’t find what you’re looking for in my recipes archives: 1) Send me a message through my Contact Me page or post a comment on this post with your requested recipe! 2) Check out a few of these sites below for some of my faves gluten free recipes.
- Minimalist Baker: Great for simple, minimal ingredient gluten free and vegan recipes.
- Oh She Glows: Recipes mostly free of gluten and very allergen conscious.
- Yummly: Yummly is my new favorite recipe site for a few reasons. Not only can you create an account and filter based on your dietary preferences and restrictions, you can also use the yum button on many blogs (including mine!) to save your favorite recipes to your account. You can also create a grocery list, sort by meal/category and more! Go in to your account, put gluten/wheat as an allergen and search away for your next favorite recipe!
- Gluten Free Living Magazine: When I first went gluten free I found some of my fave recipes in magazines and just adapted them to be egg free as well. They publish many of their recipes online.
For (More) Plant Based Recipes:
- Thug Kitchen: *warning: thug kitchen does use profanity on their site that may not be suitable for children* That disclaimer aside, they may plant based eating fun! Not only are many of their plant based recipes online, but they also have a few amazing cookbooks. Their Strawberry Margaritas are one of my favorite recipes of all time.
For Low FODMAP Recipes:
- Kate Scarlata: Kate Scarlata is a fellow Registered Dietitian and IBS/low FODMAP diet expert. I have had the pleasure of hearing her speak last year and she also recently released a low FODMAP cookbook
For Paleo Recipes:
- The Paleo Mom: Great recipes for those following a paleo diet or autoimmune paleo diet. Dr. Sarah Ballantyne provides great resources for those who need to follow a paleo or autoimmune paleo diet for medical reasons.
For Autoimmune Paleo Recipes:
- Autoimmune Wellness: Great for those heading into a specific Autoimmune Paleo Protocol elimination phase.
Other Sites I like to Use When Searching for Allergen Friendly Recipes:
- Yummly: As I mentioned earlier Yummly is a great site for not only finding your next favorite recipe but you can also organize and store your favorite recipes all in one place! You can find my recipes on yummly here.
- Pinterest: Another great site to find and organize recipes. Convenient if you already have a Pinterest account for planning your wedding, decorating your house, etc.
- Google: Good ol’ Google. If you are more advanced with your cooking/baking/recipe development I highly recommend googling the type of recipe you are looking for (i.e. “peanut butter blossom cookie recipe”) and adding key words such as “gluten free,” “vegan,” or “paleo.”
Any other favorites I’ve left off the list? Share them with us in the comments below!
